I thought Londoners were bad when it comes to driving in snow, but apparently the US southerners are even worse. This is a demonstration of how not to do it from a CNN article on snow in Atlanta. Should I
floor the accelerator in my bmw and let the wheel spin until the car catches on fire? No.

fire melts ice.
modern cars are so advanced.
EVERY TIME it snows in the 16 years I lived in SC, there was at least one accident, every 1/4 of a mile on the INTERSTATE.. the INTERSTATE, built to Eisenhower's era specs, wide, plowed, easily navigated.
When I was in Atlanta in Feb 2010, and they had an ice storm, I witnessed a fool in his pickup truck, FLOORING it on ice at an intersection, for a solid 2 minutes.
I think NASCAR is partially to blame.
I would like to listen in on that insurance claim. "It just burst into flames for no reason!"
Local news should have "how to drive in snow" segments. Would be much better local service than wasting time reporting on national news.
