Thursday night crowds of what at first I took to be young domestic workers settling in for a long wait for ferries were grouping together and hunkering down on the elevated walkways leading into Hong Kong's IFC mall. Seemed odd, though. The next morning, huge queues for the Apple store in the mall. While there was no iPhone 4S launch locally, apparently it was global iPhone *4* price drop day. The crowds of people the night before were camping out to snatch up cheaper iPhone 4 stock for selling back in China.

Have fun down on Jaffe Road if you get the chance. The Hawkers, who try to get you into the clubs there, are hilarious!
No nightclubs for me. Did not go into wan chai. Did walk around quite a bit, but from central west, then south, uphill, back down through SoHo, then MTA over to Kowloon, through the night market on temple street and around there, back up nathad road and wandered a bit through tsim sha sui.
The Aviary is also quite pleasant on Hong Kong Island - though it's been 10 years since I was last there.
It was enroute walking to the Aviary when I was extremely jet lagged that I forgot to "Look Right" and nearly was flattened by a speeding double decker bus, pulled back at the last second by my colleague and buddy Jerry the Metallurgist (bus only clipped the tip of my toe). But as a long term resident of London, you should not have the same problem =)
